ASSESSMENT 2 FERRARI 250 GTO - ROOF

Second part of the assignment was to make the top part (the roof) of the vehicle. Making the roof was easier as it was made the same way as the front part but with a less dramatic curve.

1. Same as the previous blog, the shape was estimated by using paper and pen. This was drawn on top of the metal piece and cut out

METAL PIECE CUTOUT

2. The general shape was made using the English Wheel

3. Detail of the curve (such as areas that are steeper) were created using a round mallet and sandbag

4. Similar to the front part, a double curve had to be created so that it curves around side of the vehicle. This was made using a curved metal shaper that was used for the front part.

5. Tear shaped metal shaper and flat head hammer was used to make the curved tail of the vehicle

6. English Wheel was used again to smoothen the surface

7. The outer face was sanded and polished for aesthetic reasons
